IPv6 in Philippines

Apparently, Philippines government IT commission CICT is planning to switch Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) to its successor IPv6 in order to solve some limitation of IPv4 such as inadequate number addresses and less secure.

The main benefits of IPv6 compare to its predecessor is that it has more number of addresses available for networked devices such as cell phones and mobile network devices, also, it provides faster routing, better security and encryption.

CICT is now working on the policies, evaluation and nationwide deployment of IPv6. There is no specific date yet as when CICT will start deploying the latest version of Internet Protocol.
